Act Early Ambassador Program

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Learn the Signs. Act Early. (LTSAE) program is designed to support families and providers in identifying developmental milestones and addressing concerns as early as possible.

What the LTSAE Program Encourages:  For parents of children from birth to age 5 and the professionals who care for them, LTSAE promotes:

  • Learning the signs of healthy development (developmental milestones)
  • Monitoring each child’s early development
  • Acting early when concerns arise—by talking with a doctor and requesting developmental screening

Program Goals:  The Learn the Signs. Act Early. program aims to:

  • Improve early identification of developmental delays and disabilities
  • Support family-engaged, high-quality, research-based developmental monitoring
  • Provide accessible tools and resources for families and providers

Act Early Ambassadors:  CDC’s Act Early Ambassadors help expand the program’s reach across states and territories by:

  • Supporting local efforts to improve early identification
  • Promoting developmental screening
  • Connecting families to early intervention services and supports

How the Program Helps Families:  LTSAE resources help families:

  • Celebrate developmental progress
  • Understand what milestones to expect next
  • Recognize possible developmental concerns
  • Take action early to seek evaluation and services

By encouraging early monitoring and timely action, the program helps ensure children and their families receive the support they need as early as possible.
