NDCPD employs some of the best and brightest expert professionals in the disability field and we want to share that expertise with you. Below is a list of specific training options and services we provide. Â This list of services and training opportunities is subject to change. Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) Services
- FBA, Initial ABA Evaluation – Home/School Program Development:Â Program development entails a full evaluation Record Review, Parent Interviews, Indirect Assessments, Direct Observations, Functional Analysis & Data Integration. Written reports will be developed for the client along with the development of goals, development of objectives, and teaching strategies, and initial team and family training.
- Family Training: Family training will work under the direct supervision of the consultant to train families, babysitters, or other significant people in the client’s life. The family trainer will provide training on the program, model and train specific procedures, and give guidance to program maintenance, etc.
- Additional Services:Â Behavior Treatment; Supervision of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs); Consultation; Staff Training; and Report Preparation
Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) Training
ECHO training sessions are a cost-effective professional development opportunity that increases participant capacity in underserved areas by equipping attendees with evidence-based practices while simultaneously providing access to specialty consultation.
Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE)Â Customized Employment Training
This 40-hour training program prepares Employment Specialists to provide employment services to a broad range of job seekers with an emphasis on developing relationships with local employers. This training also provides Employment Specialists with information related to the competencies that are addressed in APSE’s CESP exam. This training consists of 4 modules that include self-study, quizzes, tests, discussion questions, and practicum assignments via our Learning Management System and 3 face-to-face workshops to complement the online content.
Visual Impairments/Deaf and Hard of Hearing Consultation
Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments (TSVI) and Teachers of the Deaf (TOD):
- Provide direct instruction in the Expanded Core Curriculum
- Recommend educational and instructional strategies specific to vision and hearing loss;
- Obtain specialized and accessible materials (such as braille, recorded or enlarged materials, hearing assistive technology devices, etc.;
- Actively participate in the Individualized Education Program (IEP);
- Consult with teachers and school staff;
- Interpret medical reports;
- Conduct ongoing observations; and
- Conduct specialized assessments and makes recommendations for accommodations/modifications.
Orientation and Mobility
A Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) teaches individuals with visual impairments to travel safely, confidently, and independently in their environment. Participants will learn about direct instruction, assessments, and travel training for individuals who are visually impaired.
First Responders Training
One-hour training for First Responders on best practices in working with people with disabilities. This course has been designed to provide First Responders with the information and methods that will help to ensure effective and appropriate communication between First Responders and people with disabilities.
Sensory Processing Basics and Strategies Workshop
Discover your own sensory preferences while learning about the seven areas of sensory processing and how to identify needs in the childcare setting. Learn which senses provide the foundation for learning and development. Once you recognize what signs and symptoms might indicate sensory processing difficulties, you will learn activities and accommodations you can use to support children in your care. You will also get tips on how to have a conversation with parents to share your concerns, hear about their concerns, and suggestions for support in the community.
